Laird: "The recording sheet is headed 'Brunswick 100 Hill Billy Series.' These selections [C4037 and C4038] are noted as remakes of masters C3956 & C3957, and a further notation states: 'C3956 & C3957 originally put through as Vocalion 5M, changed as per Mr. Lanyon's letter of 8/21/29.' Eventually both selections were remade again in New York (see E30491 & E30492). It seems that master C4039 was intended to be made at this session, but it was not recorded until August 15, 1929." |
