Laird: "Masters E21614 & E21617 are listed on the recording sheet as 'without vocal chorus.' Although there is no mention on the sheet that these masters are intended for export, this seems to be the first session where a non-vocal master was routinely made of each title (presumably for the export market to non-English speaking countries). Future changes in the status of the non-vocal masters will be noted. By mid-1927 (as early as April 21, 1927) such masters were designated 'German' or (August 30, 1927) as 'For Germany.' Later 'For Export' was frequently used to indicate non-vocal masters on the recording sheets." |
Session indicated as recorded in the AM. |
First two masters renumbered for Vocalion use as E4634-E4635. Vocalion numbers assigned on or after March 5, 1927. |
