Discography Status
The Discography of American Historical Recordings database currently includes the following content:
- Victor Talking Machine Company and RCA Victor black label 10-inch recordings made in the United States through 1942 (eventually ca. 1955); others, including those recorded in Central and South America, through 1940 (eventually ca. 1960); releases derived from masters recorded in Europe by the Gramophone Company; and trial recordings of new artists and sessions from which no discs were issued
- Columbia Records 10-inch domestic masters recorded between 1901 and 1934
- Columbia Records 12-inch domestic masters recorded between 1906 and 1931
- Columbia Records not in the Columbia Master Book that have been digitized by UCSB or as documented by data provided by Richard K. Spottwood
- Berliner Gramophone Co. domestic recordings from 1892 to 1900
- OKeh masters recorded between 1918 and 1931
- US Zonophone 7-inch, 9-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch masters recorded between 1900 and 1912
- Leeds & Catlin domestic issues released between 1903 and 1909
- Edison disc recordings beginning ca. 1910 through 1929
- Decca masters between 1934 and 1974
- Brunswick masters from 1916 through 1931
The database currently has data on more than 320,000 matrix records. 45,000 Victor, Columbia, Okeh, Edison, Zonophone and selected other sides are available for online listening.
