Victor ledgers note "Approximately 1200 voices"; disc label notes "1000 male voices."
Disc label: "Recorded at their performance in New York City."
ADP editors have transcribed recording locations from Victor ledgers verbatim. It is highly unlikely that the takes were recorded in two different places on one day. The editors believe that all performances took place at the 71st Regiment Armory, but that the takes marked Bell Laboratory were relayed by wire to the Laboratory for recording there.
