Victor ledgers: "E. Oberstein, present." |
Available data on the number and identities of the vocalists are conflicting. Victor ledgers state, "With vocal duet and Uncle Zeke"; Bluebird disc label credits "Singing by Uncle Zeke and Holly Horton." Russell identifies Horton (lead), Dick Reinhart, and Bob Dodson as the vocalists on this master. The Bluegrass Messengers website indicates that "Uncle Zeke" is William Muryel Campbell. However, Ginell and Coffey's Discography of Western swing and hot string bands, 1928-1942, credits Horton as "Uncle Zeke" on this master, and Reinhart and Dodson comprising the vocal duet. Rust's Victor master book, vol. 2, states much the same. |
